Our key weapon in the fight against Corona: Our immune system!

Factory-pre-installed to our body at delivery and constantly updated over the years: Our immune system and other body defences. And our best chance against C.

It beats me that governments and media have STILL not called people to take better care of their general health and support their immune systems to survive this crisis. Especially alcohol and smoking are a no-go in these times.

Allies for the body defences:

  • ginger
  • garlic
  • onions
  • oranges
  • pineapple
  • curcuma
  • chilly
  • moderate exercise
  • fresh air
  • good sleep
  • moderate food intake and fasten
  • social balance, psychological health
  • herbs as Rosemary, Sage, etc
  • sun, salty sea air
  • sauna or hot & cold showers, ideally with brushing/scrubbing skin with hard brush to increase blood circulation

I excessively use sea water nose spray when I notice a dry nose. Also gargling salt water is recommended by many.

Enemies of our body defence system:

  • alcohol
  • smoking
  • too much, too heavy, too imbalanced eating
  • stress
  • coffee
  • sweets
  • excessive exercise
  • most pharmaceutical products, especially medication that destroys gut health
  • pollution, chemical products, processed and convenience food (to protect respiratory system avoid especially air-pollution and fine dust)

(when I am fighting a cold and the immune system is at full throttle I have made negative experiences especially with Red Wine, coffee… and overstraining during exercise)

Here is a great article I just found. Unfortunately it is missing a few crucial items, as the devastating effects of alcohol and smoking and the need for a balanced nutrition, fresh air and moderate exercise. Anyway, worth a read!

“Importantly though, the respiratory tract is equipped with extremely effective self-cleaning mechanisms: its walls consist of cells that expose tiny cilia, which are covered by a thin layer of mucus. In analogy to a conveyor belt, the cilia all move in synchrony in a circular pattern to transport the mucus slowly from the bronchial tubes up into the throat. In this process, particles deposited on the mucus are removed from the respiratory tract. However, when the mucus becomes too viscous or the mucus layer gets too thick, this cell-driven conveyor belt begins to stall.” ETHzürich article

Here is a magic bullet to re-enforce your defences:

Make a tea of fine-cut pieces of about 4-5 garlic cloves, and a good piece of ginger and curcuma (also fine cut). Brew with boiling water and let it sit for 7-10 minutes. Once the tea is ready, in the cup add some apple vinegar (a table spoon shot), some organic apple juice and some honey. It will knock your socks off and steam will come out of your ears… 😉
